Day #64
Hey there! I should have saved this photo for Shrove Tuesday but this is me running a pancake race and I always want to draw the attention to the right of this photo, the girl that is cheating, I feel like she should be disqualified. Even though we were about 3. And I won.
Tonight is New Years eve and I have some friends coming round for a few drinks before heading into town, I'm not sure what it'll be like but I'm pretty sure it will be better than the hustle and bustle of London last year.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #63
Hey there! Today is Tuesday, the weather is freezing cold and it is date night tonight! I'm taking Becca to 81 Beach street, a restaurant in town that I love. It should be great! Tomorrow is New years eve! That's it for today.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #62
Hey there! Welcome to Monday, try not to cry too hard. Today I did a little bit more editing on the commentary on yesterday's story (I have to write a 1000 word commentary on each piece, talking about how and why I put different things into the thing - I ran out of words for story). Afterwards, I rewarded myself with an hour and a half of Walking dead and New girl. Then a little bit of internet shopping with the help of this little gift card and now I'm here. "But it's so early Will, why are you writing your blog at 2 o' clock in the afternoon, it just doesn't make sense, I can't handle it. I won't." Well in the immortal words of the man from the advert "Calm down dear," it's purely because I am heading over to Folkestone in an hour and I may not be able to do my blog post tonight because there is a possibility of staying at my girlfriend's. See, plausible explanation. I have an exciting couple of days coming up, like I mentioned, today I'm going over to see my friend Arthur in Folkestone for a few hours, then tomorrow is date night with the girlfriend - I've booked a table at a swish restaurant. Then the day after is New Years eve where I'm seeing a couple of friends and seeing in the new year with Becca. After which I am seeing my Nan and then possibly my friend Olivia. It'll be a busy few days. Wish me luck.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #61
Hey there! This is my new toy hedgehog. Bought for me while I was in Cornwall by my mum. When I was younger, my family and I would go to museums or castles or historical informative places (didn't know how to phrase it or another synonym), because I was small and pretty hyper active, I would spend alot of time in the gift shop, always convincing my parents that I didn't have a cuddly ____ (Any stuffed animal or thing). To the point that I vividly remember saying that I didn't have a cuddly snake and hey presto, a snake. I built up a huge collection, a collection that pretty much took up a whole loft space. In a National trust shop in Cornwall, my mum joked with me about how they had a cuddly hedgehog after I had said how cute it looked. Without realising, she went off and bought it, she gave it to me today and it'll live on my shelf at university. So begins Harold the Hedgehog's adventure. Thanks mum.
Also, today I finished off a creative writing assignment (the one which mentions Ella Fitzgerald and gangsters). I don't think it's anything amazing but I thought you might be interested:
The piece (unformatted)
Smooth jazz rang out
of the music hall, Ella Fitzgerald's voice was dancing in twine with
a saxophone, hitting and twisting around the perfect notes for this
charity ball. Your roughcut narrator stood outside, excluded from
this event which invited only the highest of the high class. My good
friends Jimmy, Angelo and Tony stood around our 1928 Cadilac Town
Sedan (resprayed black with clean plates). Tony, leaning on the car
with a cigarette in his mouth was combing his salt and pepper hair,
slicked back to be hidden underneath his fedora. Jimmy sat on the
bonnet, nodding his head to 'Moonlight in Vermont', glancing his eyes
up to the clock on the side of the great building in front of us.
Angelo, the youngest of our group, shook with every car that passed
us. 'Time to go?' Jimmy said, as if not able to hold out any longer.
'Not yet,' I
replied. Ten on the dot was the time given and I wasn't going to let
Jimmy Needles mess it up. Not again.
***
Carl
stood in front of me, across the mahogany table. I sat against the
back of my chair, willing my soul to escape my body, so that at least
part of me could run, back out into the Chicago morning, I could
stroll along the Navy pier or just run, until my lungs burned and my
souls bled. I'd run so far but I doubt I would escape the Carlisi
family for long. Joe didn't.
'You
messed up kid. I gave you one job and you blew it. Six men dead and a
dispute with the don himself, you're screwed now.'
'I
fucked up Carl, I know. I'll-'
Three
men stepped into the room, one shorter and fatter than the others,
adding to the smell of whisky and smoke already present. Sitting down
in silence, the don dismissed Carl with a hand gesture. We sat in
silence for what seemed like hours, days maybe, but can only have
been a handful of seconds. Don Colosimo spoke calmly and surprisingly
quietly.
'The
job did not go as I had anticipated I understand?'
'No Mr
Colosimo.' I replied, holding back my excuses and only extending
limited words.
'Would
you like a drink?'
'No
thanks,' he knew I was to nervous to move let alone drink.
'Six of
my best boys died for you, for the mistakes made by you,' he paused
to take his hat off, exposing his thinning hair and greying skin.
'My
friends here,' nudging his hands towards the men standing either side
of him, 'think that I should kill you. End the trouble you give me.'
I shook with fear, thinking back to the words that my mother had said
before I got into all of this mess, 'stay out of trouble Eric, no
more trouble, I mean it.'
I
pulled my hand off the table and hid it under the table.
'Instead,
I want to give you one more chance. Prove yourself that this was just
a fatal mistake.'
'Yes Mr
Colosimo,' I tried desperately to hide my smile but it betrayed me.
'If you
mess this up, I will kill you. I will kill your mother, your sister
and anyone you care about.'
Composing
himself, he continued
'It's a
big job so you will need guys you can trust, shooters and your wits
about you. I'll have Carl explain the situation and I'll see you
after it's done.'
With
that, Don Colosimo was up and out of the door with his two
protectors, after a minute or two Carl re-entered and handed me an
envelope, unsealed. The words on his lips didn't need saying 'don't
fuck this one up kid.'
***
The
bell in the clock tower was pealing and with a glance, I saw that it
was 10 on the dot. Tony was pulling the shooters from the bag on the
back seat of our wagon, passing them round, a shotgun or Thompson
each and a Colt. Jimmy saw that I was in deep thought and looked as
worried as ever, his forehead wrinkled, our eyes met and just as his
mouth opened, Tony thrust a Thompson into his hand. I nodded and lead
us quickly away from the road, lit up by streetlights, looking
beautiful on this December morning. We entered through a side door in
the building. By this time the jazz music was muffled as we pushed
our way into a corridor that ran down the side of the great hall. We
pulled our makeshift masks onto our faces, mine was just a pair of
stockings, stolen from a sweetheart, used to distort facial features,
making it harder to identify us criminal types. Just as a trumpet
solo flew up above the music, my merry men and I flew through the
door and spilled out into the great hall, causing panic and distress
in all of these rich types. I held my pistol into the air and shot,
all the while, Jimmy, Tony and Angelo shouting to stay down on the
floor, saying that we didn't want anyone to be hurt. I am unsure if
this was actually a lie because it was my life on the line, I was
going to do anything and everything that I could in order to find
Giovanni Vitale. One of the men at the far table got up and tried to
run for an exit that Angelo was yet to cover, as a result, Tony shot
him in the back, shreiks were thrown out by all guests, this was
useful as it subdued the other hostages from doing anything stupid.
Something which I then warned them about doing. Once all were
subdued, I made my way up the staircase and searched each room for my
target. It took me three empty rooms until I found him, sat at a
table with his sturdy looking bodyguards. I shot each of them in turn
before they could even stand up. While looking at Giovanni, I spoke
the words I felt were right,
'Da Don
Colosimo. Riposare in pace.'
His
eyes grew wide and he stuttered, 'you've got it all-.' Your narrator
shot, three desperate bullets.
After
leaving the mess upstairs, I found that the boys were taking what
valuables they could from the hostages, which seemed to be quite a
tidy profit. Money, diamonds and other such jewels.
'It's
done boys, let's go.'
As we
made our way towards the door a volley of shots came in through the
windows, smashing into Jimmy and Tony, throwing them breathless on to
the floor. I peered up from where myself and Angelo had taken some
cover and saw that it was the police, the door we were attempting to
leave out of was in clear sight of a police line and as a result we
were trapped, but we had to make an escape. A window perhaps?
Anything to get out of this place.
We ran
to the back of the hall, behind the stage and there, lo and behold
was a stage door. Angelo was in front of me, he flung himself through
the door, only to fall 5 feet unexpectedly onto the floor. By the
sounds of things he had broken a leg and damaged his other. Crying
out for his mother, father and the holy ghost, I tried to pick him up
with no avail. This boy was not going to move anywhere. The alleyway
then lit up, torchlight. Not just one torch, 3 or 4, maybe more. I
shot into the piercing light but it was clear, try to drag this
injured boy away and be caught together, or run and sacrifice him for
my own freedom. I ran, I'm ashamed but at the time there was no
question. I was free but what a mess I had made. I ran all the way
home, double locked my door, pulled the stockings off of my head and
lay on my floor, noticing a spec of blood on my collar, staring at it
until I must have passed out.
Angelo
intruded my dreams, visions of him being beaten in prison were
interrupted by a knock at the door, a harsh banging which seemed to
shake the wood from the hinges. It was Carl, dragging me, wordless
into the early morning, into his car. The sun was dragging itself
over the horizon as we drove, wordless. Only Carl knew what was
happening at that moment.
'You
messed up the big job Eric'
'No, I
killed Giovanni, it's over right, I'm straight with Colosimo?'
'Oh, my
boy. Bunny boy, that wasn't Giovanni Vitali that you killed.
'Who
was it?' I asked
'That
was Don Capone. Scarface. We aren't going back.'
Until tomorrow

Day #60
A super quick post today, I am shattered after the journey back from Cornwall. A lot of traffic was on the roads today but thankfully we managed to miss most of it. It's so cold outside and as a result, getting home to a house without heating for a week was horrific. I'm going to eat pizza, watch Netflix and sleep.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #59
Hey there! Super quick one today, nothing to report. We travel home tomorrow, from Cornwall back to Kent. It'll be a long journey but I'll have music and sleep to help out. It's been a great week and now it's time to go home, the build up to university term, exams and the next semester.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #58
Merry Christmas! Feliz Navidad! Hey there, it's Christmas day and we are having a great time. Christmas dinner has just been eaten, a little bit of alcohol has been consumed and it's now the limbo period, the part where anything goes as long as it's funny. Which means that limbo genuinely might be on the cards. These are 2/3 of my older brothers, Tom on the right and Matt on the left. Whether we look alike or not, you decide. Have a great day.
Until tomorrow

Day #57
Good afternoon! It has been a very busy day. Another very busy day, but it has been great fun. Today we drove out to a few great places including Port Isaak and Boscastle. I am shattered right now but here are a few pictures of our adventure, the last of which is a cave in Port Isaak, pretty creepy but all good fun! Tonight we are having a chilled one, some snooker, food and drinks. Tomorrow is Christmas which means busy people and pretty sweet food and drink.
Until tomorrow
Merry Christmas

Day #56
Hey there! I had a pretty amazing, busy day today! We went up to the top of Roughtor, a hill of crazy rocks. Walking up it with a geographer was great because she loved it so much. She was loving all the rock formations and things. At one point, I think I almost took some of the knowledge in. Almost. After this we had another huge pasty which was amazing. I didn't know it but pasties were invented for miners, working down the mine (obviously). When working they couldn't take a full lunch in pieces with them so within the pasty they had sweet and savoury at each end. The sad point came today when I had to wave goodbye to my girlfriend until at least the 27th. It sucks because we are so close but we'll see eachother soon. Back at the cottages we played badminton, indoors (obviously) and then went for a swim, it was nice but I am absolutely shattered. The plan tonight is to eat, drink and be merry. Also play snooker. Priorities and all...
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #55
Welcome to day number 55! I hate doing short posts but we are so busy here. Besides, I'm pretty sure the only people that read are up here with me (I might be wrong). Today I had the biggest (and first) pasty I have ever had. It was amazing. We then played so many sports and table games, it was brilliant. Tonight is the last night Becca is up here with us so we are out to dinner and potentially getting a little bit merry.
Until tomorrow

Day #54
Hey there! Today we headed to the Eden project, it was wicked. It was a little bit of a drive but it was definitely worth it. The rainforest had some amazing plants. This is a super quick post because my Grandparents have just turned up to our cottage.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #53
Hey there! We are in Cornwall, everyone made it safely and now it's time for a week of fun, relaxation and family time. Christmas can be slotted in as and when. Today there isn't a crazy amount to say, I slept in the car, played a few CD's and let my girlfriend sleep on me. Also I need to give a hello to my mum who says that she doesn't get mentioned as much as my nan, which is probably true. Tonight the agenda is to have a little bit to drink and play snooker, table tennis and whatever else comes our way.
Until tomorrow (Where there is talk of visiting the Eden project)
Will :)

Day #52
Hey there! Today I wrote 1500 words about a group of 1930's gangsters, all because I was listening to a playlist called 'Morning Jazz', one of the featured artists - Ella Fitzgerald got a mention in the story. I feel like you should all know that. Also, these are some of my polaroid/instax photos. I have about 70. The ones on the wall of my bedroom in Kent haven't travelled to university with me so it's nice to come home and see familiar faces. Tomorrow I disappear to Cornwall for a week of leisure activities.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #51
Hey there! Not exactly an inspiring photo for today, it's just taken on my iPhone, hence the graininess, must be using a crazy ISO. Today my girlfriend and I went shopping in Canterbury, the nearest city. It was packed and walking round shops in 3 layers and a dufflecoat meant that I was overheating pretty quickly. I bought something for my family's secret Santa and then some speakers for myself. In two days we set off for Cornwall and I can't wait, tonight I am watching the Walking Dead. Tomorrow I have a little bit more shopping to do and then pack. Plus some work. I should be doing some of that.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #50
Hey there. You're looking at the Vattenfall off-shore wind farm. It looks amazing right? It gives power to over 200,000 homes across the UK which is pretty great. Today I woke up with a little bit of a hangover, last night got a little bit crazy (£1 a shot night at a dive of a bar). I stayed in bed all day and only left the house to get a spare key cut. Tomorrow and Friday I will be packing to head to Cornwall.
Until tomorrow
Will :)
Tuesday, 16 December 2014
Day #49
Hey there! It's nine days until Christmas day and I'm doing today's blog post early because I'm meeting some friends in town for drinks tonight. Today my girlfriend was over, we cooked breakfast and she met some friends, I haven't done a crazy amount other than that, I've just been relaxing and hopefully I'll get some work done for uni.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #48
Evening! This is my girlfriend dressed as an elf. I think she's trying to be a cheeky elf. Or she just burped. Today was spent catching up with my friend Alex who is at East Anglia, we swapped university stories and it was really nice seeing him again, hopefully I'll see him a couple more times before going back. Afterwards I spent some time with my nan which was nice, she always has food in the cupboards and love to give. Finally I went to Becca's house to meet her dad and her sister who were really nice, not sure how I come across but hopefully polite, well mannered and good natured.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #47
Hey there! First photo (on my DSLR) taken back in Kent, in my bedroom. Already looking a little bit messy but feeling like home. Waking up here this morning felt weird, mainly because it was before midday but also because I was in a double bed and I could hear my parents' voices outside the door. Today was filled with putting decorations up, watching TV and playing video games. My plan for the next 5 days is to see as many people as possible and then jet off (kind of) to Cornwall for Christmas.
Disclaimer: I also plan to do some work at some point.
Until tomorrow
Will :)
Saturday, 13 December 2014
Day #46
Hey there! A super quick one as my computer is about to shut down. Today my girlfriend drove me home, she lives near me so it kind of works. We set off at 8 in the morning and arrived at 4 in the afternoon with 3 short stops. I am so grateful because I know she is shattered but it is so nice to be home. Bring on 3 weeks of relaxation, revision and rest.
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #45
Hey there! I am all packed and ready to go back to England! Today I was woken up by my flat, this sounds bad but yet again it was about midday. Today has just been full of washing clothes (I am not taking any dirty washing back home) and taking it very easy. Last night got abit heavy but it was good fun. Tomorrow my girlfriend is driving me back home and I can't wait! We are leaving at half 7 to beat the traffic but it'll be great. Road trip!
Until tomorrow
Will :)

Day #44
Hey there! That's me wearing my new Aberystwyth hoodie, I got it today and haven't taken it off. Today I had a seminar and then went to town. When I came back I watched 'A clockwork orange', the film that I got in the secret Santa. I loved it but it does miss out a couple of things that are in the book. Tonight is the last night out in Aberystwyth before I go home. There is a glitter party at one of the bar/clubs in town with a glitter cannon, cheap glittery drinks and temporary tattoos. It could be an interesting night.
Until tomorrow
Will :)
Wednesday, 10 December 2014
Day #43
Happy Wednesday! Only 3 days until I go home and today I was woken up by a man who wanted to fix my radiator. This seems pretty strange but to be fair it was 1 o' clock in the afternoon. Last night was great, my Facebook has some pretty funny photos inside the local nightclub, I ended up with a Christmas hat and a big hangover this morning. Today we signed contracts for a property next year, it is super exciting and I feel way too young to be doing it. Secret Santa also kicked off today, my flatmate Jake got me 'A clockwork orange' on DVD, I have read the book and it's really nice of him.
Until tomorrow
Will :)
Tuesday, 9 December 2014
Day #42
This is an instax photo that I took on Saturday, I love it because I'm smiling (which I don't do much of), my girlfriend is looking so great, we are both in Christmas jumpers and it's an instax photo. The jumper that I am sporting in the photo is my Christmas Ipswich Town jumper, I love it and it will be worn all over Christmas. Tonight we are heading to a party, it could get a little wild. I may be feeling a little delicate tomorrow.
Until then
Will :)

Day #41
Welcome to Monday, the equivalent of rain at a picnic, but hey, it's almost going home time and today I had the last lecture in one of my modules. Tomorrow I have nothing on and a party in the evening. So, what I'm trying to say is that if you are feeling the Monday blues, try and empathise with me. Feel the last week of term joy! Today's photo is of the lecture hall, sorry it is such a bad picture, I took it with my 55mm lens so it looks like I have zoomed in on these people, not true. Tonight is a flat meeting about living next year, we have booked the contract signing on Wednesday, so fingers crossed. Myself, Tom and Joel might head to the student union to play a few games of pool, afterall, I need practice for going to Cornwall over the Christmas break where there is a full sized table and my family are all pretty competitive.
Until tomorrow
Will :)
Sunday, 7 December 2014
Day #40
Hey and Happy (Aberystwyth) Christmas! Today we had our Christmas meal. So. Much. Food. It's weird because there were couples sitting round the table and they all go home to separate parts of the country, whereas Becca and I are heading back to the same neck of woods so it's pretty cool. It's the last week of university before Christmas, I can't wait to get home now and see everyone! Today's photos was taken at the meal, which was in the Scholars pub in town.
Until tomorrow
Will :)
Saturday, 6 December 2014
Day #39
Evening all! Tonight is party time. The kitchen is prepped, the birthday girl is in the building and it's time to have a good time. The theme is Christmas jumpers, I have a blue Ipswich town one and there are variations of patterns throughout the flat. I'm hoping Lissi (The birthday girl) will have as good a birthday as I had. Tomorrow I may be fragile as usual so don't speak too loudly.
Until then,
Will :)
Friday, 5 December 2014
Day #38
Happy Friday! The weekend has landed! Tonight I am sitting indoors and eating takeaway pizza whilst watching James Bond, Skyfall. I can't wait. Tomorrow is Clarissa, (The girl in the first photo) my flatmate's birthday. Tonight she got some amazing cupcakes delivered as a surprise from her mum. Tomorrow, the girls in the flat are going out with her to town for the afternoon and myself, Joel and Tom are decorating the flat and getting everything ready for her party tomorrow night.
Until tomorrow
Will :)
Thursday, 4 December 2014
Day #37
This is what a night out in Aberystwyth does to someone - They come home with only one trouser leg. Today we were hit with some bad news, the flat that we were set on yesterday was snapped up by another group of people just hours after we requested the contracts. We weren't told about other interest in that property so we felt a little bit let down but it's okay because we saw 5 properties and so we are going with another one which is just as good if not better. The contracts have been sent to us and maybe second time lucky. Tomorrow is my lazy day of 1 lecture at 3 o' clock and then I plan on getting a takeaway pizza and watching films. My photo for today is Tom, my flatmate who went out into town last night and managed to come back with only one trouser leg, someone had ripped it off of him. Wild nights in Wales.
Until tomorrow
Will :)
