Day #298

Super short blog update today. The rain came down and the thunder came too. There wasn't much for it but to stay indoors, watch TV and play Xbox. I mean there was plenty that I could have done, I just chose not to.

Until tomorrow

Day #297

Hey there! Today I spent the day with Becca, my lovely girlfriend, pictured above. We had lunch at a farm shop, followed by such a cute walk. Not much to report, just such a great day and tomorrow is bank holiday is Monday and I have absolutely no plans, who knows what'll kick off. Tuesday is the next day that I'm working, delivering ice cream again to offices around Kent which was really nice when I did it last week!

Until tomorrow

Day #296

Hey there! Today was a brilliant day, despite my team losing 3-2. Since I was very small, my dad has always taken me to Portman Road to see Ipswich town play football. My parents met there and my brother was born there, it's steeped in family history and I have a genuine attachment to the club. Over time I've developed a love of being at the games, being part of a die-hard crowd and cheering or booing whatever happens on the field. Today we watched a poor defence from Ipswich but a great attacking second half, a dodgy referee and two bulldog blokes next to me that seemed to know exactly where Ipswich were going wrong and precisely which tactic to deploy to bring about a win, despite looking like they'd never done any sport in their lives. How I love the beautiful game.

Day #295

Hey there! Not a crazy amount to report today. This afternoon I hung out with my friend Ben who I hadn't seen for a year. It was so nice catching up, reminiscing and playing video games. We looked back on photos from the Camino de Santiago, essentially a long walk that we had done both last year and the year before. Next year, the plan is to bring together some of my friends at uni and some of his and complete our journey to collet our compostellas. The excitement is already beginning, a year early! Tomorrow my dad and I are heading to the football to see Ipswich town take on Brighton. I can't wait, let's hope we can take 3 points!

Until tomorrow

Day#294

Hey there! This is myself and my buddy Emma on the You scream for ice cream shift, whereby we deliver simply ice cream to offices that apply for a visit on our website. Our journey took us to deepest darkest Dartford, as well as Rochester and Whitstable. I really love working for Heart, it's such a great community with some wicked opportunities. It's a total contrast from retail, working 9-6 under flourescant lights, and that was only one day a week!

I can't say that that's all retail, working at Sue Ryder charity shop was brilliant, despite being a voluntary position, the job gave me amazing experience, under a fantastic boss, making some great friends.

I've got a really exciting couple of days lined up - tomorrow I'm hanging out with a school friend that I haven't seen for a year, so a lot of catching up is needed. Saturday, as mentioned yesterday, I'm heading to Ipswich with my dad to watch the football and Sunday's plans are a little vague right now but there's the potential of a bbq with friends if the weather holds out.

Until tomorrow

Day #293

Hey there! Today was one of those days where the rain started falling in the morning and didn't stop all day. Dripping out of guttering and forming puddles everywhere. I like the rain because the sound is therapeutic, the plants are watered and it makes us feel lucky because we aren't having to find makeshift shelter to avoid it.

This evening my Dad decided that he'd be taking me to the football on Sqturday, Ipswich v Brighton, a battle for the top of the championship table. An epic battle at Portman Road that I can't wait for! It'll be wicked, the atmosphere is always brilliant!

Tomorrow is my last shift of this month with Heart FM, delivering ice cream to businesses around Kent. Funnily enough I'll be felivering to an office of an ex-colleague of mine at Debenhams which will be nice.

Today's photo is of a butterfly made out of beads by a child leaving my mum's class at the end of last term. Very sweet but then again, my mum is a very good teacher.

Day #292

Hey there! I've had a really cute morning at my nan and grandad's, it's always nice to see them both and there's never a shortage of food! We headed into to town where I picked up 'The Railway man' for 1 pound 50, a heavy topic (Burma prisoner of war camp) but I can't wait to get into it! This evening my mum's friend Harriet came round which was really great, definitely brightening up a wet and grey evening.

Until tomorrow

Day #290

What an amazing day I have had, despite the crazy rain.

Today I headed to London to hang out with my Uncle and to visit some of the city's hidden and not so hidden treasures. The day started as it meant to go on, with a great and steady British downpour, the streets were soaking, the taxis were splashing and brollies were whacking into lamposts, brick walls and tall teenagers like myself.

What better way to shelter from the rain than to get inside a 6 metres per second elevator that took us 72 floors to the top of Europe's tallest building, The Shard. The view was stunted a little by the low cloud cover but as we worked our way around the glass sky scraper, the views were amazing, as long as I didn't look straight down. I learnt a brilliant fact - No new buildings of similar size to the Shard are allowed to obstruct the view to St. Paul's Cathedral, hence the lack of sky-rises in Westminster, hence the funny shapes of these things!

For the afternoon we went on a guided tour of the street art in Shoreditch, led by Dave the Expert, we learnt some amazing things. Firstly, the first picture is something that nearly always goes un-noticed on Urban streets - These stickers are essentially the calling cards of the street artists themselves, some of which are worth a few hundred pounds. The other pictures are of some amazing street art spotted along the route and the second to last picture is of a man in the distance, power washing the paint off the wall of an office block. It is interesting to note the apparent difference between graffiti and street art:

Graffiti is for the artist's ego, it is used in order to gain kudos from other graffiti artists, the general public are not the intended audience.

Street art is (as Dave said) art done by anyone for everyone. It is the first fully accessable, mass art form since church art in Medeival times.

The final picture is an original Banksy.

After an Italian meal tonight, I am feeling very content. Understandable after such an amazing day!

Until tomorrow

Will :)

Day #291

Hey there! So, let me start off by letting you know that last night, I watched an amazing film. Amazing by standards of film taste, which are pretty low. Shutter island is such a clever film, whereby, even Hinting towards the plot might give the film away completely. I was utterly captivated and it definitely slots into my top 3 films, next to Pulp fiction and Trainspotting.

Today, my only job was picking my parents up from the airport, something I had discussed with my grandparents nearly a week ago. We decided that I would don a suit and act as a proper chauffeur, I had a sign and stood in arrivals alongside other taxi companies and driving firms. This was only after bonding with a taxi driver about congestion into the airport and at least 2 people asking if I was looking for them. My parents found it hilarious, they had a great holiday and it's nice having them home. Tomorrow I venture up to London to spend the day with my uncle which will be great!

Day #289

Hey there! Last night was wicked, a few friends over, chilled out with a few drinks in the warm evening! This morning, my friends and I made the informed decision to get a cooked breakfast and Deal, the place that I live has an abundance of cafés which is great. We headed to one called Wellingtons and sat outside which was lovely. This evening I will be taking it easy, preparing for tomorrow when I go and pick my folks from the airport.

Until tomorrow

Day #288

Hey there, super quick blog post because I forgot to do one. Today I sorted out all the change accumulated in this house and turned it into spendable money. 20 pounds in total which is a pretty good haul. Tonight I've been out with friends, hence the lack of blog but I'm sure you can forgive that.

Until tomorrow

Day #287

Hey there! Today for the most part, there isn't much to mention but for this evening, myself and Becca went out for dinner - Mexican food to be specific. The meal was lovely and now we are watching TV. The potential for tomorrow is to have friends over and go out, only a couple of us but it'll be great fun!

The first photo is of Becca inside the restaurant, looking very cute. The second photo is the Marlowe theatre, seen on our walk home.

Until tomorrow

Day #286

Hey there! Today was book day for me, so not a lot to report to be honest. It's a little dull being home alone and definitely not party time as most American sitcoms might have you believe. I cracked off 150 pages and lost myself in my book which is always great! This evening I've sat learning scales on guitar. Due to being self taught from songs and riffs that I liked, I've never bothered with actually learning the notes, it's been fun practicing them. Today's picture is of one of the plectrums Becca got me which I love. It makes me feel like a rockstar which is never a bad thing.

Until tomorrow

Day #285

Hey there! Today myself and my nan and grandad sorted through all of my nan's photo albums. Thousands of pictures, as far back at 1920 had to be sorted and it only took so long to label the albums because myself and my nan went through them all. I love old photos and there were plenty of me! Today's photo is of me on world book day for school. I'm not 100% sure who I'm supposed to be but I could see me rocking this outfit on a themed night at university, for sure!

Until tomorrow

Day #284

Hey there! Today myself and Becca headed over to Margate, stopping at the Hornby visitor centre and museum en route (who says we don't know how to have a good time). It made me so thankful that my childhood was filled with model soldiers, scalextric and imagination, rather than just sat indoors in front of a screen all day. I thank my family for that, introducing me to what they did as kids, something that I want to pass on to any kids I have in the distant future. Tomorrow I'm looking through photo album a with my grandparents which I can't wait for!

Until tomorrow

Day #283

Hey there! Today I did something that I should have done 6 years ago, or maybe even somewhere in-between. I sorted out my online banking. No more will I have to dash to the cash machine late in the evening to check my account. No more will I be paying for everything in cash (okay, that's a little exaggerated). After that, I bought some more food for the next week I am home alone, played quite abit of xbox and made a frittata - definitely preparing for university again. Cooking the only thing I properly know how. Today's photo is of my memory stick that my mum bought me - a chicken whose head comes off to unleash the data within.

Until tomorrow

Will :)

Day #282

Hey there! After 2 days of parting, I am now pretty tired out. After waking up at around 2, I had a very late breakfast and chilled out for most of the day, reading some of my book, playing Xbox and watching TV. Being at home is so chilled out but hopefully in the next week, I'll get out with my camera. A highlight of today was my mum's friend Harriet brought round a cake that she'd baked for me. It looks amazing and I will definitely getting into it tomorrow. Tonight I've been chilled with Aidan, we cooked dinner and caught up which has been really nice.

Until tomorrow

Day #281

Hey there! Last night, myself and a few others headed to Canterbury for results night, which is a very big night on the city's Callander. I got home at around 4 this morning and slept in until 1. I'm feeling a little tired but a cooked breakfast brought me back to life. Today's photo was taken midway through preparation for the binge fest. Tonight, the friends from last night are coming round for a guys night with Xbox, pizza and beers. Potentially a second night out in a row is on the cards.

Until tomorrow

Day #280

Hey there! Today myself and Becca headed off to the Ashford outlet after calling in at my nan's. The drive was nice and sunny all the way until I got to Becca's, where the heavens opened and the Lightning came down. I love thunder and lightning but I'll admit it's a little scary when it gets loud and close. I picked up a new pair of shoes because my primark ones are understandably on the brink of death. I also picked up a jacket because most of mine have broken zips and other malfunctions.

Until tomorrow

Day #279

Hey there! Today I picked up my next book - The King's Assassin by Angus Donald. The book is the latest in the series which is looking so good! For the rest of the day I stripped this guitar of stickers and tape that I thought looked cool when I was 15, then I cleaned it, re strung it and fixed a part (glue had worn out on one of the bridge parts).

Until tomorrow

Day #278

Hey there! Today was my properly last shift of August (that I know of). Giving out Krispy Kreme doughnuts was a lot of fun and I e started a new TV show which is so so good - Last man on earth. Today's photo was taken from the sofa, during a very relaxing afternoon.

Until tomorrow

Will :-)

Day #277

Hey there! This will be a very quick and a little late post. Today was my first proper day being home alone so I finished the last of my book, watched quite a lot of TV, very productive. This evening Becca come over for some wining and dining which was super cute! Tomorrow is working with Heart Angels, giving out Krispy Kreme donuts which will be great fun!

Until tomorrow

Day #276

Hey there! Today was day one of having the house to myself and so far, it's been plain sailing. That's because I got up. Pretty late, read my book in the garden and then my nan cooked for me which was really sweet. After dinner myself and her went through old photos, from when my nan was a small girl to when I was a baby and upwards. I love looking back at old photos and understanding people's pasta and mine, because obviously I don't remember it. Tomorrow is bin day so I've put ours out ready for collection - how exciting!

Until tomorrow

Day #275

Hey there! Today's post will be very quick, I'm pretty tired after taking my parents to Gatwick, it was so nice, empty roads and a great playlist.

Today's photo sums up the morning - a FaceTime from my brother in Taiwan and the end of the Ashes, an Englad win which is great. For the rest of the day I sat in the garden under the sun to blast my book which is really interesting, it's called Who is Tom Ditto? About a set of secret organisations throughout England with people who follow other people and mirror their lives in order to break the humdrum of a routine, it's so interesting with some great humour.

Until tomorrow

Day #274

Hey there! Today was my last time-tabled shift with Heart this month, although I am covering a fellow angel on Tuesday!

Today after a shift at Wingham Wildlife Park, myself and 2 others (Emma and Ronni) headed to The Royal Marine hotel on Whitstable seafront for food and a drink. It was so nice chilling in the sun with great friends and I'm so glad I've met them!

We were invited on one of the office worker's leaving do but I had to turn it down, I fancied getting home and chilling out with my folks. Today's photo is of Emma and Ronni right before we chowed down on some amazing burgers!

Until tomorrow

Day #273

Hey there! Today I had an awesome shift with two great fellow Angels! The total time that we were actually working was 1 hour and 40 minutes, when we were giving out free donuts, the rest of the 5 hours were taken up with picking the donuts up, driving round Kent and eating food, all paid for so it really doesn't feel like a job at times. Picking up 60 freshly made donuts was great, I really felt like a fatty!

Today's photo is of my fellow angel Lauren putting the Krispy Kreme donuts into a tray to offer people.

Tomorrow is my last timetabled shift of August, I'm working at Wingham wildlife park again which will be super cute!

Until tomorrow

Day #272

Hey there! Unbelievably quick post today. Right now I'm at the pub with friends after a log day chilling in the British summer. Tomorrow with Heart we are giving out Krispy Kreme donuts in Maidstone which will be great fun!

Day #271

Hey there! These are  my fellow Heart Angels, from left to right, it's my smiling face, Emma J, Katie and Lauren.

Let me sum up today's face painting with a simple statement - it's not my forté. I painted four children's faces. Firstly lion - nice and easy, yellow with whiskers. Secondly tiger, slightly trickier but kind of the same principle, then the difficulty shot up to a strong 6/10 for anyone that is a natural, an 11/10 for me, someone who instead of a grade for Art, just got told I was doing it wrong. I muddled through with a lot of glitter and bad shapework but hey, it's for free. I put my paints down and swapped with one of the other girls when a girl asked for flowers to match her sister's. They did not match her sister's, they barely resembled paint at this point (in a bad way). In the end I decided to not ruin this girl's idea of what flowers are and handed her over to Lauren. Oh well, apparently practice is needed but I don't fancy practicing on kids while their disappointed mother watches on.

Until tomorrow

Day #270

Hey there! Today was pretty chilled. Firstly, I headed to the library to exchange a book for another. I also paid a groundbreaking fine of 10p, I really had to dig deep for that one. For the rest of the day I sat outside in the garden reading my next book. For the evening myself and my family headed to The Blue Pigeons in Worth for dinner which was amazing - I had lasagna. Tomorrow I'm at Wingham wildlife park with my fellow Heart Angels, doing face painting and getting competition entries.

Until tomorrow

Will :-)

Day #269

Hey there! Today I felt a little off so I just chilled out for most of the day, I think I suffered a little bit from sun related sickness, maybe mildheat exhaustion. In the evening I headed over to see Arthur for a game of football at one of the local parks which was a lot of fun, on the way home I saw Bex which was a nice chilled out way to spend a Sunday night. Tomorrow I'm heading to The Blue Pigeons at Worth again for dinner with my family which will be amazing!

Until then

Day #268

Hey there! Today was Brighton Pride which was unreal! Despite starting an hour later than scheduled due to a bomb scare, the procession was brilliant! I am absolutely shattered so I will leave you with these two photos. Spot me! Hint: I am towards the left of each photo.

Until tomorrow
